Delay of Publication of the Book.

You will note the early Saturday programme includes a “Preview of the Jubilee Book” HE ARA ROA – A History & Recollections of St Joseph’s Māori Girls College by Malcom Mulholland.  This is currently in its first draft with Huia Publishers.  We knew when we commissioned the book that we were operating within a very tight timeframe.  Added to this, Malcom’s research and writings have been comprehensive and robust so much so that the initial proposal has almost trebled to that as planned.  In discussion with the Publishers (who are excited by the book and its contents) and Malcom, it is agreed that the quality of the publication could be compromised if we ‘rush’ its release.  I apologise for any disappointment the delay may cause but HE ARA ROA will not be released in time for Jubilee weekend.
However, please be assured that what you will eventually receive will be “special”.  For those who have prepaid, we will arrange delivery when the book is finally published.  Malcom, his family and the Publisher are attending the celebrations.  Malcom will be able to give us further information when he gives his korero at 9am on Saturday 7th October.
